2006: The first prize winner in the General category was Lim Ai Swan of Malayasia for her article 'Osteoporosis: Move it or Lose it' which appeared in the China Press Berhad'.

Winning journalists received cash prizes US$5000 and extensive global publicity. In addition, first place winners received an all expenses paid trip to the Congress for the award presentations.
